Abingdon - Rogersville
Bristol 31/8/14: Feeling fresh and ready to hit the road again.
Loaded with epic Ihop-carbs the goalsetting was: Ride at least 60% of todays 100km distance before taking a break. So we did. Weather and roadconditions were favorable, resulting in a handsome average travel speed. We hit the 60km in less than 3hrs - Yet I didn´t tell Berni, who seemed to be in great phyisical shape again! After about an hour he suggested a short break. "We´ll leave the highway soon, let´s take a break then" I responded.
20 minutes later a little sign appeared next to the road. It said: Welcome to Rogersville, TN! That caused a good laugh - for both of us! It was the first time we cycled the whole distance without a single break. In less than 5hrs. Feels great!
Just when I started to write this blogpost, the receptionist came over, chatting with me on our project. As I had a DJ set running in the backround we soon began to talk on music. After a while it turned out that he has been DJing for 20+ years, experiencing the rise of House & Techno in the US, beeing among the pioneers. Just super exciting for me, truely loved the conversration! Thx Quality Inn. Thx DJ Chuck.
