Say hello to Julia, Simone & Jan
Austrian born, Simone and Jan moved to the Mid West 1 year respectively 1 1/2 years ago. Since Illinois is pretty darn flat they looked for a valid replacement for their known and beloved hometown mountains „Linzer Pöstlingberg“ and „Grazer Schökl“ and found them in Chicagos Skyscrapers. Jan, as a Reinhold Messner aficionado („Do wor i nu net, do muasch i hin!) is not very pleased by the length of the trip compared to the height levels to be reached, however both are supporting the idea of the sportive adventure, especially since it is also dedicated to a good cause. Furthermore, Jan and Simone see it as their duty to support fellow Austrians in their new home country, although they would strongly recommend that Berni and Lukas reroute the whole adventure for the sake of a pint (or more!) of 312 Ale in Chicago.
Julia herself has already proven to be though and having endurance. In 2010, she cycled through half of the Iberian peninsula from Barcelona to Madrid to get to the „World Youth Day“. Although she didn’t cycle for a good cause, she saw at least the Holy Pope. Being passionate about humanitarian missions, she recently committed herself to helping Syrian refugees in Vienna.
Thank you guys !
