Cookeville - Nashville

Nashville - Nashvegas - Cashcity. Call it as you like. It´s Tennessee´s capital and especially famous for it´s lively (country)music scene. And ya, it´s definitely living up to this reputation!

It´s our third scheduled recovery stop - a special one for me. When I first came to the States I also flew in via NYC, connecting to Nashville, TN. It was a 2 hours flight from NY. One of those flights you take in Austria to get to one of the classic holiday destinations: Greece, Turkey, Spain. Quite substancial flights from a European´s perspective. Well, it was a special moment beeing back in Nashville, realizing that we mastered the whole distance by bike! It feels great!

We once again made a very positive experience using AirBnb. Two young Nashville raised sisters gave us a warm reception, inviting us for dinner, giving us inside tips on Nashville´s culutural and culinary offers. Really enjoyed their company!

Besides visiting a small, innovative distillery we were hopping from one live-music bar to another plus enjoyed a big open Air concert that took place right in the city center! All for free. That is a bingo.

It was also our first time to use Uber as an attractive and very convenient alternative to traditional cabs. Cause of course: No public transport available ^^ Uber came to Vienna recently. I´m curious how they will do back home. We like it.

Tomorrow morning will be time to say good bye Tennessee. We leave the south-west trail and head up north for the next 600km, crossing Kentucky and Illinois.

My pleasure, Nashville.
